Y6 Hong Kong Wetlands Trip – Wednesday 18th October 2023

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are writing to inform you of the exciting news that the Year 6 students will be undertaking a school trip to the HK Wetlands Park. This is a perfect opportunity to explore the natural beauty of Hong Kong and bring to life our Discovery learning that focuses this term on ‘Ecosystems – how do they support life?’ unit of inquiry.

Date: Wednesday 18th October (for all Year 6 classes)

Time: Within school hours – all students will be back at school for normal departure time

Cost: HK$70, which will cover the entry fee and bus travel; payment can be made by cash, cheque or bank transfer

All cheques should be made payable to ‘Discovery Bay International School Ltd.’ Online bank transfer is also accepted, provided that the transfer slip and student information are emailed to the accounts office ([email protected]) for reconciliation purposes.

The school’s bank details are as follows:

Bank name: Discovery Bay International School Limited

HSBC account number: 111-459624-001

What to wear: PE uniform and hat, and apply sun lotion and bug spray before leaving home

What to bring: Water bottle, sun lotion, bug spray, morning snack and packed lunch – please note there will be no opportunity to access the school cafeteria on this day, so a lunch from home is essential.

As with all school trips, we would love the support of parents and look for any parents willing to join us on this day –this will ensure the adult-to-student ratio is within the required recommendation. Please let your child’s class teacher know if you can offer your help for the day.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your class teacher.

Kind regards,

The Year 6 Team
