Year 6 Migration Simulation

Dear Parents and Guardians,

On Thursday 1st February, the Year 6 students will be leaving campus to take part in a ‘migration simulation’. This links directly to our new unit of inquiry ‘Why do People Migrate?’ and is designed to give the children a taste of the experiences that a refugee may face.

The simulation will take place at the DB lookout point. We will walk up the steps opposite the school to reach the lookout, departing campus at approximately 8.45am and returning in time for lunch.

We would like to invite parents to accompany us to support and encourage the students to walk up the hill and ask questions while they are taking part in the simulation.

If you are available and would like to help, please email your child’s class teacher by the end of the day on Thursday 18th January.

Best wishes,

The Year 6 Team
