Dear Parents,
I would like to inform you about two key pieces of information that are important for your child’s academic journey: the Options ‘B’ booklet release and the Options Evening.
1. Year 9 IGCSE/BTEC Level 2 Options Booklet ‘B’ Release:
On Tuesday 21st November 2023, the final booklet will be released. This will contain the final options blocks and detailed subject-specific information as per the initial booklet. It will serve as a comprehensive guide to help your child make informed decisions regarding their academic path.
Along with this, there will be a Jotform link, which will also be shared with you on Tuesday itself. Please ensure you check your email.
2. Year 9 IGCSE/BTEC Level 2 Options Evening:
I would also like to invite you and your child to our Options Evening, scheduled for the following day, Wednesday, 22nd November 2023. This event will run from 6pm – 8pm. We strongly encourage both you as parents, and your children, to attend the Options Evening as it will help you gain valuable insights and make well-informed decisions.
During the Options Evening, you will have the chance to interact with myself, the Heads of Department, subject-specific teachers, student ambassadors and the University Careers and Guidance Counsellor, Cecilia Lau, who will all be available to answer any questions you may have. This event aims to provide any further clarity and guidance that may be required to ensure your child’s chosen IGCSE subjects align with their interests, academic capabilities, passions and future aspirations.
Whilst the majority of the information remains unchanged, we would encourage you to familiarise yourself once more with the revised booklet that you will already be in receipt of on Tuesday. I also advise you to attend the Options Evening before you and your child submit the Jotform commiting to final choices.
I understand the significance of making the right choices when it comes to IGCSE/BTEC Level 2 subjects, as they form the foundation for A Level/BTEC Level 3 and equivalent pathways. Therefore, I strongly recommend that you mark your calendars for both the release of the IGCSE/BTEC Level 2 Options Booklet B on Tuesday and the Options Evening on Wednesday.
